Perfect Mocha Latte to Cosy up

Updated: Feb 26, 2019

With today's harsh winter there is nothing we all desire most than to be able to cosy up at home, in front of a fireplace, read a book or watch our favourite TV series; and what best than to accompany the moment than a hot cup of mocha latte. And yes, If you are like me, you are probably stuck at work too, but hey, at least we have something to look forward to, once we get home and prepare this delicious beverage with our favourite coffee beans and unwind, maybe even while watching out the window ;)

So let's start, this drink although "fancy" is one of the easiest to prepare you will need:

  • Coffee: 8 ounces hot brewed strong coffee; for this one, I prefer Kafetero Medium Roast, but most of my colleagues do it with Kafetero Dark Roast. As always I advice, any coffee is best when it is freshly ground but if you still don't have a grinder it's not a problem you can always order our fresh roasted and ground coffee bags (roasted every week, we grind when we receive your order).

  • Chocolate: You can use 2 tablespoons of Organic hot chocolate mix or 2 squares of organic dark chocolate.

  • Milk: 1/4 Cup of whole milk or cashew milk.

  • Toping (optional): I prefer to sprinkle cinnamon powder on mine with homemade sugar-free coconut whipped cream (it's here!) but in general cinnamon, candy or whipped cream go great on a mocha late.

1. If hot chocolate mix, simply stir the already brewed coffee and the hot chocolate mix in a mug.

  • If you are using dark chocolate squares, bring the 1/4 milk to a boil add the dark chocolate squares, mix on the stove until chocolate has melted. remove from stove and stir with an aerator, fork, or whisk until you see a little of a foamy texture (this is also known as frothing). Usually a minute should be fine. wait a little for it to cool down to warm.

2. if you are using hot chocolate mix, Heat the milk on the stove to warm. Remove from the stove and stir the milk using an aerator, fork, or whisk until you see a little of a foamy texture (this is also known as frothing). Usually a minute should be fine.

3. Pour the frothed (foamy) milk into the coffee.

4. lastly, If desired you can top it with whipped cream and sprinkle cinnamon or even cocoa powder. If not, give it a try and add a sweetener of your choice. Since most of my hot chocolate drinks are made with organic unsweetened cocoa bars I tend to add a tbsp of Canadian organic Maple syrup.

To cozy up: grab a blanket, and Enjoy

Now we have something to look forward to once we get home.
